Khuon Lung accelerates household economic development
Recognizing household economic development as a key driver of agricultural and rural growth, Khuon Lung commune has actively promoted awareness campaigns encouraging residents to shift from small-scale, self-sufficient production to commercial farming. Agricultural officers regularly visit local communities to provide technical guidance and advise farmers on selecting crops and livestock suited to local conditions.

The commune has also coordinated with local banks to help households access preferential loans, expand production, and form cooperative groups. As a result, many households have boldly invested in models such as forest plantation, livestock farming, tea cultivation, and commercial fish farming, achieving significant economic results.
The family of Hoang Van Viet in Nam Khuong hamlet is among the commune’s outstanding examples of household economic success. With technical guidance from agricultural officers, Viet planted one hectare of cinnamon in 2016, earning over VND300 million after seven years. He has since expanded to 10 hectares of cinnamon, combined with buffalo, goat, and fish farming, generating an annual income of more than VND200 million. His family’s living standards have steadily improved.
Similarly, the family of Hoang Van Pan in Tan Son hamlet has effectively developed its household economy. Making use of available garden land and water surface, he has invested in pig, porcupine, and fish farming, earning over VND100 million per year. In addition, his six hectares of cinnamon, eucalyptus, and styrax trees not only generate stable income but also help green the land and protect the environment.
Khuon Lung commune currently has 1,698 households. During the 2020–2025 period, its multidimensional poverty rate has decreased by an average of 7.6% per year. Nearly 1,200 families have now reached average income levels or higher, clearly reflecting the effectiveness of household economic development.
According to Nguyen The He, Vice Chairman of the Khuon Lung Commune People’s Committee, the commune will continue to encourage local people to invest and apply advanced techniques, support the development of key crop and livestock models, strengthen linkages among enterprises, cooperatives, and credit institutions, and expand market access to build sustainable value chains that promote local socio-economic growth.
