For 2025, Tuyen Quang set a target export turnover of USD 190 million. By the end of August, the total value of imports and exports reached USD 94.7 million, an increase of 47.6% year-on-year. The cumulative eight-month figure was USD 672.2 million, fulfilling 87.3% of the annual plan. Of this, exports hit USD 534.2 million, an increase of 106.7% and meeting 98.9% of the year’s target, while imports reached only USD 138 million.
Key export products include tea, pulp, writing paper, textiles, barite powder, timber, and wood products. Notably, specialty items such as Xuan Van pomelo, guava tea, honey, and papaya flower have entered the markets of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, showing great potential. The province also maintains stable markets in the U.S., EU, Middle East, Pakistan, Russia, China, India, Japan, and South Korea.
According to Loc Kim Lien, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, the province is orienting export development along four product groups: agricultural and forestry products; processed and manufactured goods; garments; and new products. At the same time, Tuyen Quang is leveraging opportunities from free trade agreements such as CPTPP, EVFTA, UKVFTA, and RCEP to increase exports to the EU, Japan, China, South Korea, and ASEAN, while expanding into the U.S., Russia, India, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.
One highlight is Woodsland Tuyen Quang JSC, which after nearly 10 years of operation has established three factories producing furniture and industrial boards. Director Le Quang Khanh said the company has capitalized on its national-brand wood products to expand exports, shifting from raw exports to the U.S. to finished furniture exports to Europe. The company is striving to fulfill its fourth-quarter orders and aims for VND 1.6 trillion in revenue in 2025.
In the tea sector, My Lam Tea JSC has made a breakthrough by obtaining prestigious international certifications such as FDA (U.S.) and HALAL (for Islamic markets), paving the way for sustainable exports. In 2025, the company plans to export 1,500 tons of tea, including 600 tons of green tea, all cultivated organically without chemical pesticides, in compliance with clean agriculture standards.
With clear strategic direction, proactive enterprises, and strong provincial support, Tuyen Quang is affirming its position on the export map of agricultural and forestry products.
