Tuyen Quang affirms its agricultural brand on the global map

During the 2020–2025 term, the provincial Party Committee identified agricultural and forestry production of key and specialty products meeting high-quality and added-value standards, linked with new rural development, as a breakthrough task. From specialized resolutions, many products have made their mark. A prime example is Sanh orange, with nearly 700 hectares rehabilitated and upgraded, increasing productivity and quality, helping farmers raise income by VND22 million per hectare.
Alongside Sanh orange, other crops such as specialty rice, Shan Tuyet tea, Soi Ha pomelo, temperate fruits, cardamom, and buckwheat are developing strongly towards commercial production. Notably, Shan Tuyet tea, covering 18,000 hectares with an annual output of 68,000 tons, is considered the “green gold” of the region, generating over VND700 billion each year.
The application of science and technology has been expanded, with adoption rates reaching over 80%. Nearly 5,700 hectares of crops are certified under VietGAP, organic, Rainforest Alliance, and GlobalGAP standards. The province currently has 457 OCOP products, including two with 5-star ratings. Many products have entered demanding markets such as the UK, Japan, the US, Russia, and the EU. In 2024, Soi Ha pomelo officially debuted in the European market.
However, Tuyen Quang agriculture still faces challenges: dependence on weather, limited deep processing, and loose production linkages. To address this, the province is focusing on zoning production areas based on natural advantages, applying digital transformation, restructuring along value chains, and strengthening the “four-party linkage” between the State, scientists, businesses, and farmers.
With this strategic vision, Tuyen Quang is opening a new chapter for modern, sustainable agriculture, gradually affirming the position of its agricultural brand in both domestic and international markets.
