Promoting local specialties

For many years, the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Thanh Tuyen Festival, has become a signature tourism product, well-known among both domestic and international visitors. Each season, the festival attracts tens of thousands of tourists from across the country, offering an opportunity not only to showcase tourism services but also to promote local specialties.

Tuyen Quang is a fertile land blessed with many renowned specialty fruits, including the Soi Ha pomelo, seedless Xuan Van persimmon, juicy Trang Da persimmon, Luc Hanh custard apple, Thai Binh longan, Ham Yen orange, and Hong Thai pear.

In addition to fruits, in recent years, the “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) program has created a wide range of products for tourists to choose from. It has also opened opportunities for consumers nationwide to discover and trust the province’s specialties, including Shan Tuyet tea, smoked buffalo meat, dried bamboo shoots, honey, and Chiem Hoa black glutinous rice cake - items that have become popular gifts for visitors to Tuyen Quang.

Each local specialty serves as a “cultural ambassador,” embodying the traditional identity of a specific land while reflecting the customs and daily practices of its people. When purchasing these products, visitors also gain insights into the unique features of raw materials, processing methods, production stages, and even their cultural and spiritual value.

Tourism thus plays an important role as a channel for promotion, exchange, and connection in culinary culture, while supporting the consumption of local products. At the same time, local specialties in general, and OCOP products in particular, help address the demand for distinctive travel souvenirs, enriching the experience of every tour. Looking ahead, with the strong momentum of tourism growth, it is expected that even more of the province’s specialties will be widely promoted to both domestic and international visitors.
