The Pa Then ethnic group, living mainly in Tan Trinh, Tan Quang, Minh Quang and Tri Phu communes, is one of the smallest ethnic minorities in Viet Nam, possessing a rich and distinctive cultural heritage. However, the community has also faced the risk of cultural erosion due to difficult living conditions and limited development opportunities.

Implementing the guidelines of the Party, many policies targeting ethnic minority areas have been deployed in a synchronized and timely manner, including the restoration of traditional festivals, surveys and documentation of folk rituals and indigenous knowledge, heritage profiling, revival of traditional crafts, and livelihood development linked with tourism. These efforts have breathed new life into the local community.

The Fire Dancing Festival and the Crop Praying Festival of the Pa Then people have been recognized as national intangible cultural heritage. In 2025, the first order of 2,000 brocade products from the Tan Bac Pa Then Brocade Cooperative was exported to Korea, while many other products have been introduced to the market, generating profits of over VND 400 million and creating regular jobs for 15 local workers, helping many households rise out of poverty. Under the leadership of the Party, the Pa Then people are experiencing a cultural “revival.”
