To ensure the festival’s success, local authorities and residents of Dong Van Commune have planted and nurtured over 40 hectares of buckwheat flowers, timed to bloom perfectly for the event. Valleys, rocky slopes, and roads leading into the plateau are now blanketed in the characteristic pink-purple hues, creating a major attraction for visitors. Cultural activities, including folk singing, khen (traditional flute) performances, and traditional dances, are organized at key stops along the route.

Accommodation facilities in Dong Van, from traditional homestays and budget lodges to larger hotels, have been upgraded. Hosts have enhanced essential amenities such as hot water, bedding, and high-speed Wi-Fi, while also improving landscaping to create attractive, culturally themed spaces for visitors to take photos.

VIASG Group sponsors the festival and will be broadcast live on Tuyen Quang’s newspapers, radio, television, and digital platforms. During the opening ceremony, the province will officially announce that the festival has received copyright recognition from the Intellectual Property Office. Awards for outstanding tourism achievements will also be presented, including: Pa Vi Ethnic Community Cultural Village as “Best Community Tourism Destination,” UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau as “Leading Cultural Destination in Asia,” and H’mong Village Resort as “Best Green Hotel,” alongside other prominent tourist sites.

The opening program features three segments: “Legend of a Flower,” “Blooming Highlands,” and “A Rendezvous with the Plateau,” with performances by renowned singers and artists. Throughout November and December, diverse cultural and sports activities will take place, including the Buckwheat Flower Open Table Tennis Cup, dance and folk sports competitions, handicraft and textile exhibitions, photography displays, local product fairs, and buckwheat flower shaping contests.

With meticulous preparation, from perfectly timed flower blooms to upgraded accommodations, the 11th Buckwheat Flower Festival promises not only a vibrant tourist attraction but also a platform to preserve and promote the unique cultural heritage of ethnic minorities in the Dong Van Highlands.
