Vietnam to ship 141,000 tons of rice to Indonesia

Vietnam has won a contract to ship 141,000 tons of rice to Indonesia as the country organized an open tender to import 500,000 tons of rice last week, according the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

During the tender, Vietnam won the largest volume, followed by Thailand with 120,000 tons, Pakistan with 65,000 tons, and India with 20,000 tons.

The winning price (C&F price) of Vietnam is USD466 a ton for the package of 70,000 tons, and USD464 a ton for the package of 71,000 tons.

The transaction rice is 0-5% and 5-25% broken rice which was harvested in the 2017-2018 crop and less than six months. The shipments will be delivered to Indonesia before February 28th./.
