Tan Trao Special-use Forest has an area of about 4,000 hectares. The forest surrounds the villages and the entire Tan Trao war zone with many ancient 'phach tim', 'lim vang' trees, and more from tens to hundreds of years old, so experiencing the forest will be quite interesting and attractive to tourists. According to the Management Board of Tourist Areas of Tuyen Quang province, since the beginning of the year, Tan Trao Tourist Area has welcomed over 400,000 visitors. In particular, the forest experience tourism activity is quite new but has quickly attracted many tourists when coming to Tan Trao.
Not only Tan Trao, Tuyen Quang also has many beautiful primeval forests with hundreds of rare species of animals and plants listed in the Vietnam Red Book, especially the Tat Ke - Ban Bung Nature Reserve (Na Hang). The reserve has an area of over 40,000 hectares and is considered the lungs of Tuyen Quang. In the summer, the temperature is relatively cool, suitable for many tourism and exploration activities.
In 2024, Tuyen Quang has 3 ‘nghien’ trees recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees, 2 trees in Ban Bung village, Thanh Tuong commune (Na Hang) and 1 tree in Na Khau village, Phuc Yen commune (Lam Binh). Since being recognized as a Heritage Tree, Ban Bung village has welcomed thousands of visitors to visit and take photos.
Tuyen Quang is one of the provinces with the highest forest coverage rate with many rich flora and fauna. There are also many populations of ‘nghien’ trees thousands of years old and other ancient trees. This is an opportunity for the province to effectively exploit discovery and experience tourism.
